Marriott International plans to open the 162-room MOXY Milan Malpensa Airport hotel in Italy, in September 2014.
The new hotel, located at Terminal Two, will include functional and well-designed guest rooms with upscale bath amenities, large flat screen televisions and built-in USB ports conveniently located throughout the rooms, noted Marriott.
The hotel will also feature plug and meet meeting spaces, which are designed with ergonomic seating, writing walls and large television screens for presentation projection.
Each room in the hotel will also feature a floor to ceiling art wall while the lobby space of the hotel will include modern computers for guests.
Moxy Hotels is one of the newest brands within the Marriott International global portfolio, created in partnership with Nordic Hospitality and Inter Hospitality Holding.
Marriott intends to open five additional properties under the Moxy Hotels brand in Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt in Germany, as well as Oslo, Norway, by 2015.

By GlobalDataThe group plans to open the 317-room MOXY Munich Airport and 190-room MOXY Berlin Ostbahnhof in spring 2015, as well as the 305-room MOXY Frankfurt Gateway Gardens in summer 2015.
Marriott also plans to launch a 266-room MOXY Berlin Airport property in Germany and a 229-room MOXY Oslo Exporama in Norway, in autumn 2015.
Marriott International Europe president and managing director Amy McPherson said that the economy sector is the fastest growing segment in Europe.
"With the planned opening of the Moxy Milan Malpensa this year, we are hopeful that we can redefine economy travel for the next generation traveller," McPherson added.
Additionally, Marriott International expects to sign a further 13 hotels throughout Europe by the end of 2014 as part of its strategic plans to reach a projected growth to 150 hotels under the Moxy brand in the next ten years.
Marriott International, which operates and franchises hotels and licenses vacation ownership resorts under 18 brands, has around 3,900 properties in 72 countries.
