Spanish hotel group Meliá Hotels International is to open its fourth hotel in the Cape Verde Islands.
The new property, Meliá White Sands, which is located on Santa Monica Beach, will be the first on the island of Boa Vista, in addition to the three on the island of Sal.
The luxury resort will have 850 rooms and will be operated under the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand; construction is being carried out by The Resort Group.
The Spanish group will add nearly 2,500 rooms to the archipelago.
The four hotels, of which only one is open, are all large five-star resorts and offer a wide range of restaurants, bars, pools, sports facilities and convention centres.
