Thai hotel management company Onyx Hospitality Group has been appointed by Apna Punjab Resorts in India to operate a hotel in Ludhiana, Punjab.
The 127-room hotel is expected to open in the second half of 2012 and will be known as Amari Ludhiana.
The property will feature a courtyard lobby, a reception and lounge located within a 1,400m² space, as well as a tea lounge and kitty rooms to cater to the area’s key niche market, society ladies’ lunches and social gatherings.
Onyx Hospitality Group said the property will also offer banquet facilities and be able to accommodate events for up to 2,000 people as well as parking for 250 cars inside the complex.
Other facilities will include a multi-cuisine all-day dining restaurant, a spa, a gymnasium and retail spaces.
Onyx Hospitality Group president and CEO Peter Henley said: "This project will mark the entry of the Amari brand into India and, it is therefore a very significant milestone for us.
