US-based hotel Pala Casino Spa & Resort is set to undergo a $170m expansion and renovation in October this year, resulting in the expansion of the gaming space at its casino from the existing 90,000ft² to more than 102,000ft².

Works to be taken up under the programme include the addition of a new 349-room hotel tower, and the transformation of the pool area into a multi-pool and entertainment complex.

In addition, hotel suites overlooking the Starlight Theater event lawn and the new pool complex will be constructed.

The renovation contract was awarded to Level 10 Construction, which will also take up expansion of gaming and casino bar space, parking garage.

Pala Casino Spa & Resort CEO Bill Bembenek said: “As in the past, we expect elements of this expansion and upgrade to be unique to our property and to set new resort standards.

“This significant expansion project will complement our already luxurious resort offerings while providing our patrons with new world-class amenities.”

Set to be completed in May 2019, the renovation programme will also add new features to the restaurant promenade, the entire casino interior, as well as the entire existing hotel tower.

Upon completion of the programme, Pala’s hotel will have 854 deluxe rooms and suites, 2,500 slot and video machines, 88 table gaming offerings.

The renovation and expansion project will employ 400 people as part of construction.
