R Hotels has unveiled plans for a AED500m ($136.2m), sharia-compliant, four-star hotel and spa on the Palm Jumeirah island in Dubai, UAE.
The new hotel, which will be located on the East Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2016.
The hotel will feature 259 rooms and several recreational facilities including a spa, gym, swimming pool, a sauna and steam bath, a restaurant and poolside bar. It will also include an indoor and outdoor play area for children apart from special kids’ entertainment.
R Hotels managing director Sumair Tariq said: "We have exciting projects in the pipeline with two new hotel openings within the next two years, which confirms the strong demands in the market.
"We take pride in our sharia-compliant properties in the UAE and we aim to make a mark in the hospitality industry by capitalising on strategic locations, particularly in Dubai. R Hotels presently owns and manages Ramada Hotel and Suites Ajman, Ramada Beach Hotel Ajman, Ramada Downtown Dubai, and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham in Jumeirah Beach Residence in the UAE.
The company is currently developing a hotel on Al Mina Road in Jumeirah, which is anticipated to open in the second quarter of 2015.
