Marriott International‘s wholly owned brand, Renaissance Hotels, has opened a new hotel, the Renaissance Chengdu Hotel, in Sichuan Province, south-west China.
Operated under a management agreement with Sichuan Master Investment Group, the new hotel represents the entry of the Renaissance Hotel in Chengdu.
The 348-room hotel is located close to the capital city’s commercial, entertainment and shopping areas, and offers easy access to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport.
Marriott International greater China chief operations officer Henry Lee said that the group’s portfolio in China continues to expand.
"Renaissance Hotels is known for embracing the spirit of each destination, making it a perfect fit for travellers visiting this exciting city," Lee added.
Renaissance Hotel Chengdu features 348 rooms including 29 suites, two Presidential and Chief Executive Officer suites offering panoramic city views.

By GlobalDataSeven club floors at the property offer amenities such as daily buffet breakfast with live cooking stations, afternoon high tea and speciality cocktails in the evening via the 29th floor club lounge.
Dining facilities at the new hotel include the BLD Café, which provides a buffet and a la carte menu, and Wan Li, an upscale Chinese restaurant serving a menu of authentic Cantonese and Sichuanese cuisine. In addition, R Bar, situated in the lobby, offers tea, coffee, wine and cocktails.
Other amenities at the hotel include a 24hr Renaissance Hotels Navigator service, 1,322m² of meeting space spread across nine rooms equipped with audio visual technologies, including a grand ballroom with a nearly 7m ceiling, a full service business centre as well as an all day fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool.
Renaissance Chengdu general manager Erica Loh said that Chengdu is a major economic hub in south-west China renowned for its rich cultural heritage.
"The experiences offered here in the city match perfectly with Renaissance Hotels’ motto of ‘Live Life to Discover’, created to inspire guests during every stay," Loh added.
According to the company, Renaissance Hotels will have a portfolio of nearly 170 hotels across 40 countries by the end of 2014.
