EMKE LuLu Group managing director Yusuffali MA has entered a £110m deal to convert the original Scotland Yard Police Station in London into a five-star hotel.

The latest investment will be the second by the Indian tycoon in London, as he previously invested in the East India Company.

Scotland Yard Police Station has Edwardian architecture, which will be enhanced by giving it a contemporary style, reported PTI. The property will retain the main entrance, which features Edwardian imperial red brick and stone.

"The 92,000ft² five-star hotel will feature luxurious bedrooms, a library, lobby/lounge and private meeting, entertaining and dining rooms, as well as restaurants."

According to reports, a Grade II listed Victorian townhouse is also expected to be incorporated into the hotel, making it a seven-storey property with two basement levels.

For the restructuring, Lulu Group is collaborating with London’s property investors Galliard Homes.

Lulu group’s hospitality arm Twenty14 Holdings managing director Adeeb Ahamed said: "We are extremely pleased to have concluded this deal for the iconic Scotland Yard building.

"We have been actively evaluating investment opportunities that both grow our footprint and contribute to the further development of London and our interest in the iconic Great Scotland Yard is a step in that direction."

The hotel is expected to open in 2017 and is expected to employ up to 250 full-time staff. Construction on site is now 30% complete.
