Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has expanded its Switzerland portfolio with the launch of a new Sheraton brand hotel, the Sheraton Zurich Hotel.

The new hotel, which is owned by ZUFA Immobilien, was opened as part of an agreement between Starwood and Arabella Hospitality, and will add to the growth of the Sheraton brand, which hopes to open its 500th hotel by 2016.

Sheraton Zurich Hotel is situated in the heart of Zurich West, which is expected to become the busiest business and entertainment district in the city.

The new property has 197 guest rooms, including 32 suites, all of which feature the signature Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed.

The hotel has a lobby lounge featuring complimentary wireless internet access with the Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft, a signature social and technology hub.

On the tenth floor, the property has a Sheraton Club Lounge serving breakfast, refreshments and light snacks all day, evening drinks and hors d’oeuvres, while offering views of the city.

Sheraton Zurich also has over 600m² of modern meeting and event space including eight multifunctional meeting and event rooms and a pre-function area.

Amenities at the hotel include the brand’s health and fitness programme Sheraton Fitness by Core Performance.

Additionally, the hotel has a Swiss grill restaurant, Route twenty-six, and an Italian café and bar, Nuovo.

Currently, Starwood operates six hotels in Switzerland – W Verbier, Sheraton Zurich, Sheraton Neues Schloss, Four Points by Sheraton Sihlcity, Sheraton Davos Hotel Waldhuus and Hotel President Wilson.
