Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has signed a dual-hotel development deal with Fawzia Mubarak Al-Hassawi Group to expand its Aloft and Element brands in London.

The two new properties, Aloft London Tobacco Dock and Element London Tobacco Dock, will be located in the Tobacco Dock area of East London.

Aloft London Tobacco Dock will feature 251 urban-influenced rooms and a signature W XYZ bar. It will also feature a Re:charge fitness centre and four creative meeting spaces equipped with the latest audio-visual hardware.

Element London Tobacco Dock will feature 77 studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites.

Aloft London Tobacco Dock will be the second Aloft hotel in the UK capital, while Element London Tobacco Dock will mark the debut of the Element brand in the UK.

Both properties are scheduled to open in early 2017.

In addition, Starwood is set to open a duel-brand Aloft and Element hotel development in Boston, US, in 2016.

The 330-room Aloft Boston Waterfront and 180-room Element Boston Waterfront will be situated directly across the street from the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

The properties will be owned and developed by a partnership between majority equity partner Ares Management-controlled funds and CV Properties on land leased from the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA)..

MCCA executive director James E. Rooney said, "This is one of several projects underway that will help keep Boston in the list of top meetings and convention destinations in the world."
