Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide is extending its partnership with Shashi Corporation with a new development deal for a second Aloft brand property in Silicon Valley, California.
Under the terms of the deal, Shashi will renovate an existing Pacific Inn in Sunnyvale, California, and will reopen it as the Aloft Sunnyvale.
Located across from the Sunnyvale Town Center mixed-use development, the new property will be in close proximity to the offices of companies including Juniper Networks, LinkedIn, AMD and Lockheed Martin.
The new property will feature 85 rooms and is slated to open in December 2014.
Starwood Specialty Select Brands senior vice president Brian McGuinness said: "Aloft Sunnyvale will resonate with next gen travellers and area professionals with its distinctive urban design aesthetic, intuitive technologies and live music, all within close proximity of the area’s leading technology and aerospace companies."
"Aloft has experienced phenomenal growth and expects to cross the 100th hotel milestone early next year," he added.

Presently, the Aloft brand has a portfolio of 100 hotels in operation or development in 14 countries around the world.
