Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened its 251-room Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel in southern Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast.
Owned by Hoteli Dubrovacka Rivijera, the new hotel is part of the brand’s goal to open 150 new hotels by 2020.

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts global brand leader Dave Marr said: "As Starwood’s largest and most global brand, we are thrilled to open our second Sheraton hotel in Croatia, in the historic city of Dubrovnik.

Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel is located in close proximity to Old Town Dubrovnik, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as numerous cultural, historical and natural attractions, the company stated.
The new hotel features 240 rooms, including 11 suites with terraces in addition to 1,400m² of meeting and event space.

By GlobalDataIn addition, the hotel offers a range of leisure facilities such as Shine Spa for Sheraton, the well-equipped Sheraton Fitness Centre, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts and a beach.
It also features several restaurants and bars that offer both international and local Croatian cuisines.
In another development, Starwood Hotels launched its Aloft brand in Durham, North Carolina. Aloft Durham Downtown is owned by ATC East Development and managed by Davidson & Jones Hotel.
The newly constructed Aloft hotel features 134 rooms, an outdoor Splash pool, a 24-hour gym and signature facility, refuel at Aloft.
