Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Grand Hotel di Como have announced the opening of Sheraton Lake Como hotel in northern Italy.
Situated near Lake Como, the hotel is surrounded by the Alps Mountain and is close to major tourist attractions, including gardens, museums, churches and Lake Como shore.
The hotel is less than an hour drive from Milan Malpensa and the Milan Linate international airports, and is two kilometres away from the Como San Giovanni railway station.
Italian architect Ruggero Venelli renovated the 116-room hotel with natural materials to produce warm interior spaces. To promote local talent, the entire property is adorned with handcrafted furniture from acclaimed Italian designers.
The hotel features four newly renovated suites, Sheraton Fitness Center, two outdoor swimming pools with a jacuzzi, a private park, and a conference centre with ten modular rooms capable of accommodating up to 150 people.
It also includes two restaurants, including Gusto and Kincho Restaurant, as well as Bar Fresco and Sheraton Club lounge and a private park for sunbathing, jogging and picnics.
Sheraton Hotels & Resorts global brand leader Dave Marr said: "Located in one of Italy’s most sought-after destinations, the property not only strengthens the brand’s presence in a top tourism market in Europe, but also puts Sheraton one step closer to its goal of opening more than 150 new hotels over the next five years."
Starwood operates 24 hotels in Italy through five of its brands including St Regis, the Luxury Collection, Sheraton, Westin and Four Points by Sheraton.
