Starwood has signed a deal to open W Retreat Phuket – Phang Nga Bay, which will become Thailand’s third W property when it opens in January 2018.

To be located on the island of Koh Yao Noi, in Phang Nga Bay, the W Retreat will provide an integrated lifestyle experience with 79 standalone villas, starting from 155m².

Facilities at the resort will include two restaurants, a bar, lobby lounge, swimming pool, fitness centre, a spa with six treatment rooms and 120m² of meeting space.

Singapore-based Ministry of Design (MOD) has been appointed as the architect and interior designer for the hotel.

With W Retreat Phuket – Phang Nga Bay in the pipeline, Starwood is seeking to further expand its presence in Thailand, where it operates 23 properties under eight of its nine brands. This October, Le Méridien Suvarnabhumi Bangkok Golf Resort & Spa will be added to the company’s nationwide portfolio.

In Phuket, Starwood currently operates three properties: Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort, Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa and The Naka Island, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa.
