Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has unveiled plans to develop a new hotel under the W Hotels brand at Nabq Bay in the resort town of Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

The hotel named W Sharm El Sheikh and The Residences at W Sharm El Sheikh will be owned by Tower Prestige for Hotels SAE.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa and Middle East president Michael Wale said: "We are excited to build a long-term relationship with Tower Prestige for Hotels SAE to bring W Hotels and its dynamic DNA to the Red Sea, and are confident that W Sharm El Sheikh will become the number one choice for design-conscious local and international guests in the region."

The hotel will comprise 350 rooms and suites, including two Extreme WOW suites (the W brand’s interpretation of the presidential suite).

It will feature an all-day dining venue, two speciality restaurants, a destination bar and W Lounge. Other amenities include a spa, FIT modern fitness facility, tennis court, 24-hour business centre and outdoor pool deck and bar.

The property will also feature 1,880m² of meeting and event space, including a room for larger celebrations and six studios for smaller meetings.

The hotel will be near to the Sharm El Sheikh International Airport and offers views of Straits of Tiran at the mouth of the Gulf of Aqaba. It will also feature 300m of beachfront with direct access to the Red Sea.

In addition, the development will include 50 branded residences with an exclusive lounge. Residents will have access to facilities and services available at the hotel.
