Swiss-Belhotel International Group has unveiled plans to open ten new hotels in 2015 to expand its operations in Gulf states, with properties in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Iraq.
According to Swiss-Belhotel International Group operations and development vice-president Noel Massoud, the group has engaged in negotiations to open new properties in Abu Dhabi, and the other hotels in Saudi Arabia, including two in Riyadh, one each in Makkah and the southern town of Abha.
Under the agreement signed in November 2014, the group will manage the two hotels in Riyadh in 2015 under its brand name, stated Massoud.
The group is also planning to open a new property in Muscat by the end of the year, and is involved in negotiations for another project in Doha.
The hotel group plans to open hotels in Oman, Iraq, and Qatar in this year, in addition to debuting in the Jordanian market.
Swiss-Belhotel International’s property portfolio is expected to reach around 136 hotels in 2016. It also plans to expand its portfolio in Indonesia, which currently owns 30 hotels in the region.
Massoud said: "The group is also considering a number of offers to manage and build new hotels in Dubai, which is considered as the most important tourism market in the region.
"The group currently has operations in a large number of countries, including the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand."
