Hotel brand Virgin Hotels is to open the Virgin Hotel Chicago in 2013 in Illinois, US.

The property is being converted from the Old Dearborn Bank Building, an office in downtown Chicago.

The new hotel will include 250 rooms and feature meeting spaces, restaurants, lounges and other public areas.

Virgin Hotels has a pipeline of properties in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Washington DC and London, UK.

The group also plans to develop and operate gateway city hotels with 150 to 400 rooms, restaurants and public spaces.
