Wyndham Hotel Group has opened the four-star Ramada Suites Auckland Federal Street, the company’s first property in Auckland, New Zealand.

Located in the city’s central business district, the new hotel is 30min away from Auckland Airport.

Nearby attractions include Aotea Square, Sky Tower and Skycity, and the Britomart precinct.

"The Auckland area has long been a gateway to New Zealand and the most visited destination."

Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and Pacific Rim president and managing director Barry Robinson said: "The Auckland area has long been a gateway to New Zealand and the most visited destination, welcoming more than 70% of the country’s visitors.

"The World Tourism Organisation (WTO) predicts visitor arrivals will reach more than 1.5 billion by 2020, and our new Ramada location will deliver a contemporary, value-driven lodging experience."

The Ramada Suites Auckland Federal Street features a mix of 42 studio, one and two-bedroom apartments, as well as contemporary décor, kitchens, washing machines and dryers.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, an on-site restaurant and bar, and parking areas.

Wyndham currently operates three Ramada hotels in the country, including a new property in Christchurch opened in February.

In April, the company opened the 139-room Ramada Resort Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, its first hotel in eastern Africa.

The new property features 117 rooms, 21 executive suites and one presidential suite.
