Canadian hospitality company Northland Properties has announced the opening of King Blue Hotel Toronto, its first property in the city’s entertainment district.

King Blue Hotel Toronto features 118 guestrooms, including seven suites with contemporary design. It also includes a deluxe indoor swimming pool, a modern fully-equipped fitness centre and a rooftop terrace among other facilities.

The hotel is ideal for business or leisure travellers.

Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Northland Properties is owned by the Gaglardi Family. It has assets across Canada, the UK, Ireland and the US.

The company’s portfolio includes Sandman Hotel Group, King Blue Hotel Toronto, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Grouse Mountain Resort, Moxies Grill & Bar, Denny’s Restaurants, Chop Steakhouse & Bar and others.

Sandman Hotel Group president Robert Pratt said: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to serve guests in the heart of Toronto’s vibrant entertainment district. We will create a fun and energetic culture at King Blue by building a team of authentic, caring and exceptionally friendly people.”

Notably, Northland Properties opened King Blue Hotel almost a month after acquiring the property from real estate developer Greenland Canada for an undisclosed amount.

The hotel is located within the seven-storey tower of the King Blue Condominium Complex.

At the time of acquisition, Northland Properties CEO Tom Gaglardi said: “Northland’s acquisition of the King Blue Hotel is a great addition to our family-owned portfolio of hotels, restaurants, resorts and sports assets.

“With an existing collection of 60 hotels across five countries, this impressively constructed hotel serves as a landmark expansion at an important address in Toronto’s Entertainment District.”
