Palazzo Hospitality has announced an expansion into the African market with the management of the new Palazzo Ezulwini Hotel and Convention Center in Eswatini, South Africa.

Slated to open in the last quarter of 2025, this property is currently 80% complete and is set to cater to both business and leisure travellers.

The upcoming Palazzo Ezulwini Hotel and Convention Center occupies approximately 190ha.

Palazzo Hospitality founder and chairman Monther Darwish said: “Eswatini is the Kingdom of so many untold stories and we are ready to tell them to the world through this unique hospitality project that is Palazzo Ezulwini Hotel and Convention Center.

“This property alone will put the country on the map of international tourism and drive the economic growth we expect.”

The convention centre spans 42,000m² and is equipped with theatre halls that can accommodate up to 1,800 patrons, meeting rooms, exhibition halls, and a restaurant with a capacity of 340 diners.

A skywalk link will connect the centre to the hotel, providing access to various retail and dining options.

Eswatini Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Jane Mkhonta-Simelane said: “Eswatini is pleased to have partnered with Palazzo Hospitality and look forward to the most efficient and successful relationship that will make the Kingdom a beacon of hope, prosperity and a tourism centre for the continent but also globally, in the now and for future generations.”

The seven-floor hotel covers an area of 51,000m² and aims to become a prominent destination for tourism in Eswatini and the Southern African region.

Palazzo Hospitality co-founder and vice-chairwoman Baraa Khawash said: “We are honoured to be entrusted with such a major task – to develop, manage, and operate what is set to be Africa’s leading hospitality project – Palazzo Ezulwini Hotel and Convention Center.

“We are confident that our abilities, expertise, talent, and culture as a hospitality group can make this new property stand out in the entire world, not only within the African continent.”

With its spacious rooms, diverse dining experiences, and wellness facilities, the property aims to enhance the local hospitality landscape significantly.

The convention centre’s features include a two-level theatre, VIP reception rooms, a chamber hall suitable for African Union conferences, a multipurpose hall with varying seating capacities, and extensive catering facilities for banquets.

The hotel will offer 299 rooms ranging from standard accommodations to presidential and royal suites.
