Pro-invest Group will open its newest property, Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point, near the central business district (CBD) of Sydney, Australia.

The company completed the acquisition of the hotel in February this year.

It has entered into a franchise agreement with UK-based multinational hospitality company IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) for the hotel. The property, the former Larmont Sydney by Lancemore, is set to undergo an extensive renovation.

It will be rebranded to Hotel Indigo, with opening slated for the fourth quarter (Q4) of this year.

The planning opening will mark the Hotel Indigo brand’s first location in Sydney.

Located behind the Kings Cross Coca-Cola sign, an iconic landmark in the city, the hotel will offer harbour and city views.

The 105-room hotel will incorporate designs from local history and culture, as part of the renovation.

The revamped hotel will feature tributes to Art Deco architectural style. It will feature a unique design that is inspired by the area’s distinctive charm.

Pro-invest Group Asia Pacific CEO Jan Smits said: “We purchased this property knowing we had the opportunity to bring it to life in a whole new way for guests and the local community.

“With our multi-million-dollar renovation, and rebrand to Hotel Indigo, the next chapter of this hotel’s history is being written.

“The hotel’s location puts it front and centre of Sydney City Council’s revitalisation programme and the re-energising of the areas’ 24-hour economy. The resurgence of this neighbourhood promises to revive the energy it’s been so famous for, and our team can’t wait to be a part of that.”

The rebranding will upgrade the hotel to reflect the brand’s features such as personalised service, signature storytelling, design, and culinary delights.

Hotel Indigo is a boutique premium brand of IHG with 262 open or pipeline hotels worldwide.

The new location in Sydney will continue the brand’s expansion in Australia. Pro-invest Group, IHG’s largest franchise partner across Australasia, is a partner in the brand’s growth.

Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point will be the brand’s fourth hotel in the country, close on the heels of the recent signing of an agreement between IHG and Pro-invest Group to open Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders later this year.

The agreement was signed in March this year. The Sydney hotel is also Pro-invest’s third Hotel Indigo branded property.
