Radisson Hotel Group has opened Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan, its fifth luxury-lifestyle hotel in Italy.

The property was originally the headquarters of Allianz Italia but has now been transformed into a five-star luxury hotel by architects Studio Marco Piva.

Located in downtown Milan, Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan has 159 rooms and suites, with each featuring care products by Culti Milano, soft bathrobes and Nespresso coffee machines.

The converted hotel houses Sofia Kitchen & Bar, an all-day dining restaurant catering selection of Mediterranean dishes as well as international and European favourites.

ISSEI Rooftop, the fine-dining restaurant and bar on the seventh-floor terrace, specialises in Nikkei cuisine, which is a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisines.

A new terrace featuring an outdoor swimming pool and lounge bar area was also created on the fourth floor of the hotel.

Radisson Hotel Group global president and chief operating officer Chema Basterrechea said: “Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan is the perfect fifth Italian iteration of our Radisson Collection brand, and our second in Milan, as we continue expanding our portfolio of luxury hotels.

“As Radisson Hotel Group, we’re looking to give guests more options in Italy across different hotel brands, with 30 hotels by 2027 as an ambitious, but very much achievable target.”

The company recently opened the Radisson Collection hotel in Vilnius, Lithuania, which is the first Radisson Collection brand hotel in the country.
