Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) has partnered with digital guest solutions provider Zaplox to introduce digital keys, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing digital transformation efforts.

This collaboration has enabled RHG to leverage Zaplox’s middleware solution to launch mobile keys across its portfolio.

The partnership with Zaplox will enable the company to issue unique keys to each guest.

The digital keys are being trialled at Radisson RED Brussels.

Since 1 June, Radisson Rewards members who book directly and use the Radisson Hotels App started using mobile keys.

The implementation of digital keys at the first hotel will provide Radisson Hotel Group with valuable insights, paving the way for a broader rollout across its portfolio and enhancing guest touchpoints.

This initiative will enable guests to access their hotel rooms and common areas such as elevators and fitness centres using their mobile devices.

Radisson Hotel Group’s global brand and experience, customer and marketing strategy SVP Cristina Serra said: “We are excited to enter the next stage of digitising the guest experience with piloting the digital keys in one of our hotels. By adding this feature to our multiple award-winning Radisson Hotels App, we are one step closer to perfectioning its in-stay usage.”

The partnership between the two companies was reached in 2022, when RHG chose Zaplox as the technical partner for providing digital keys.

At the time, RHG had 624 hotels representing approximately 125,000 hotel rooms across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.

Zaplox CEO & president Tess Mattisson said: “This launch marks an important step towards digitalizing Radisson Hotel Group’s guest journey as we can announce that we are now live at the first hotel with digital keys.

“This collaboration signifies our mutual commitment to providing innovative solutions that enhance the guest experience and simplify the digital transformation for our customers.”

The move is in line with RHG’S digital transformation strategy.

Last month, RHG announced the implementation of new technologies to facilitate meeting and event (M&E) planners in booking RHG’s M&E venues through external meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions platforms.
