Investment group Rockbridge has selected US-based hotel management company Interstate Hotels & Resorts to manage The Westin Portland Harborview, a property in Portland, Maine.
This management contract extends Interstate’s expansion in the US following recent acquisitions which saw addition of Courtyard by Marriott Salt Lake City Downtown, Hyatt House Salt Lake City/Downtown and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Salt Lake City Downtown in Salt Lake City, Utah to its portfolio.
Interstate Hotels & Resorts president and CEO Mike Deitemeyer said: “Interstate is proud to be the designated management company for such a notable property.
“We look forward to managing this historic landmark hotel in partnership with Rockbridge, delivering a unique New England experience.”
Located in Portland’s Arts District, a few blocks away from the Old Port, restaurants, retail shops, museums and artistic venues, the hotel provides travelers a ‘vantage point’ to explore Maine’s largest city.
The hotel originally opened in 1927 as the Eastland Park Hotel.
The Westin Portland Harborview has been restored and features 289 rooms and suites, each with a view of downtown, the harbor, or Casco Bay and 24-hour room service.
The hotel offers 15,000ft2 of event space and a grand ballroom, Westin WORKOUT fitness studio, full service Artné Spa, as well as on-site dining, including the Congress Squared Restaurant.
Interstate Hotels & Resorts operates full- and select-service hotels, resorts, convention centres and independent hotels.
Its current global portfolio features 540 properties in 11 countries which includes a committed pipeline of signed hotels under construction or development across the world.
Rockbridge has made more than 225 hotel investments in 38 states worth $6bn in capitalisation.
