Hospitality technology solutions provider Shiji has partnered with IPORT, a company involved in enhancing the usability of Apple mobile devices, to introduce an integrated tablet and payment solution specifically designed for the hotel and restaurant sector.

The collaboration unifies guest service, operations, and management on a single, easily updated iOS mobile platform, replacing outdated, purpose-specific hardware.

The partnership leverages the iPadOS ecosystem, integrating Shiji’s comprehensive software suite with IPORT’s modular hardware. The combination offers a “scalable, secure, and familiar” platform that can enhance operational efficiency across hospitality environments.

This also enables staff to provide improved service within a property, enhancing the overall guest experience. It keeps staff connected and proactive, no matter their location on the premises.

IPORT’s hardware is compatible with a variety of iOS devices, including iPad, iPad Pro, iPad Mini, and iPhone, providing adaptability.

The hardware options range from handheld devices for tableside service to docked setups for events and centralised charging stations, allowing hotels to customise their technology to their service needs.

Shiji Americas senior vice president Ryan King said: “Hotels and restaurants need flexible, secure, and scalable tools that can evolve with their service models. By integrating Shiji’s software with IPORT’s modular hardware, we’re helping hospitality teams create more mobile, efficient, and guest-focused experiences—without the need to overhaul their tech stack.”

The integrated solution also makes the payment process easy by seamlessly connecting with multiple payment gateways, offering hoteliers the flexibility to select the system that best meets their requirements.

This integration reduces operational complexities, reduces errors, and conserves time and resources.

By utilising iOS devices, the solution provides a familiar and reliable user experience for staff, which helps to reduce the training period and ensures confidence in the system’s security and robustness, stated Shiji.

The iOS platform frees hotels from the constraints of fixed provider partnerships, giving them greater control over their payment systems.

The modular nature of the solution equips IT and operations teams with a system that is ready for the future, capable of adapting to changes in property layouts and service models, thus ensuring its long-term viability in a dynamic industry, added Shiji.

IPORT sales and partnerships head Chris Lawson said: “Our collaboration with Shiji brings together best-in-class hardware and software to create seamless, mobile-first experiences for hotels and restaurants. Together, we’re empowering operators to move beyond legacy systems and embrace a more agile, guest-centric future.”

In April 2025, Shiji collaborated with distribution marketplace Roibos to provide secure and scalable tools for driving digital transformation in the hotel industry.
