US-based Sonesta International Hotels has expanded its portfolio with the addition of Royal Sonesta Chicago Riverfront and Sonesta Irvine – Orange County Airport.

The two new hotels will bring Sonesta’s properties in the country to more than 55 and to over 80 globally.

Serving as the third Sonesta in the Chicago area and as the first Royal Sonesta in Illinois, the Royal Sonesta Chicago Riverfront hotel features 334 guest rooms and 26 suites.

Royal Sonesta Chicago Riverfront has 18 flexible meeting spaces, and fitness and business centres.

The hotel’s 39th floor features a 2,100ft2 Penthouse Ballroom with an additional 1,660ft2 of outdoor terrace.

Serving as the third full-service hotel in the Golden State, Sonesta Irvine hotel has 335 rooms and 11 meeting venues.
