Hotel management company Springboard Hospitality has opened the new PACIFIC 19 Kona hotel in Kailua Kona on the Hawaii Island in the US.
The new 122-room hotel is managed by Springboard Hospitality and owned by investment and development firm Nine Brains.
The PACIFIC 19 Kona was developed by renovating one of the two buildings of the Kona Seaside hotel on the Palani Road. The other building of the Kona Seaside hotel features 30 rooms and is still in operation.
Nine Brains co-founder and managing partner James Evans said: “The hotel is inspired by the Pacific – a home to many places, cultures, and peoples. PACIFIC 19 Kona is a fresh concept for Hawaii Island.
“We want to be our guest’s basecamp, while helping them connect authentically with Hawaii, as if guiding a visiting friend or family member. Not only will that happen through personal connection with the staff at the hotel, but we’re putting a lot of effort into building a curated travel guide and custom itineraries, including being able to book adventures right from the website with hand-picked local outfitters. We’re excited to welcome creators and travellers alike ready to experience something new.”
The Vanguard Theory, an interior design firm based in Honolulu, Hawaii, designed the new look for PACIFIC 19 Kona.

By GlobalDataThe hotel’s open-air lobby entrance is anchored by a giant monkeypod tree and lush flora. The living room is decorated with lush planters, teak slat walls, matching wood shelving, and custom wallpaper. Facilities outside the lobby include a daybed, a swimming pool, and two firepits.
The interiors of the rooms are inspired by the landscape of Kailua-Kona and include natural wood furnishings. The design encourages guests to head outside and explore the surrounding nature.
The rooms are also equipped with a private lanai and a macro bar and the hotel also houses Café P19, where guests can enjoy coffee, artisanal teas, and light snacks. A retail shop in the hotel’s lobby area offers snorkels, fins, and beachwear to encourage guests to explore the island.
