Kasbah Tamadot, billionaire Sir Richard Branson’s luxury hotel in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, is set to open six new three-bedroom Riads on 1 July 2024.

The hotel, part of Virgin Limited Edition, will fully reopen on 15 October 2024 after restoration due to last year’s earthquake.

Offering a modern twist on traditional Moroccan architecture, the new Riads will feature private bathrooms, lounge areas, terraces, and a unique Rooftop Tented Suite with a hot tub. Guests can also gain access to private pools.

The three-bedroom layout of each Riad can accommodate up to ten guests.

In a press release, Virgin Hotels Collection, the parent brand of Virgin Limited Edition, stated: “Guests can now book to experience the new Riads at Kasbah Tamadot from 1 July 2024, with rates starting at MAD 45,100 for a three-bedroom Riad on a B&B basis. Rates for the hotel, from 15th October onwards, start at MAD 7,200 based on two people sharing on a B&B basis.”

The interiors of the Riads, showcasing traditional Moroccan style, will include hand-made soft furnishings by local Berber artisans.

A new restaurant, Asayss, will launch in July, led by executive chef Yassine Khalal. It will serve Moroccan and international cuisine, with ingredients sourced from the hotel’s kitchen garden.

The new Riads will complement Kasbah Tamadot’s existing luxury Berber Tents, which feature private terraces and, in some cases, hot tubs. The hotel’s infinity pool and spa treatments, including a traditional Hamman, along with cooking lessons and guided outdoor activities, continue to be highlights for guests.

Meanwhile, the restoration of the main Kasbah is progressing after the earthquake. The relief efforts were supported by the hotel’s charity unit, the Eve Branson Foundation, which raised £1m for earthquake relief in the region.
