The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kāʻanapali in Hawaii, US, has announced the completion of its multi-year $160m transformation with the renovation of Ocean Tower, which is now rebranded as Kūkahi Tower.

The multi-year renovation project is intended to bring a new level of elegance to the guest experience.

The comprehensive redevelopment of the resort began following its acquisition by Trinity Investments-led joint venture in 2017.

The Kūkahi Tower’s design features clean lines, rich wood finishes, and bespoke artwork. Each room is equipped with modern amenities, including USB charging ports and an entertainment centre.

Westin Maui general manager Joshua Hargrove said: “Our original tower, which once stood alone, has been renamed Kūkahi, which literally means ‘to stand alone’ or ‘stand upright’ in Hawaiian.

“But like many Hawaiian concepts, it has a deeper meaning: the element and energy force that creates growth from the land. In line with this theme, our hope is that guests in Kūkahi would experience an empowering sense of well-being and personal growth during their time here.”
