Global hospitality group Minor Hotels has confirmed the official debut of its Anantara hotel brand in Austria's capital city, following the completion of a renovation project on Palais Hansen Vienna.

The heritage palace currently stands as Vienna's first urban luxury resort.

Featuring Viennese Neo-Renaissance architecture, the property was designed by Baron Theophil Edvard von Hansen.

Palais Hansen Vienna's history spans more than 150 years, with a history that includes serving as a residential complex and a public administration building.

The hotel features 152 guest rooms and suites with triple-glazing, 3.5m-high ceilings and oversized windows.

The 270m² Presidential Suite features seven French balconies and a range of features such as a piano for private concerts and a wellness space with a marble bath. Upon demand, the suite can expand to four bedrooms, covering a total area of 408m².

The hotel also has three dining options, the 800m² Anantara Spa, an executive boardroom, a private reading room, eight additional meeting spaces, and a ballroom that can accommodate up to 265 guests.

Minor Hotels' Anantara brand is known for its Thai-inspired hospitality, with more than 50 hotels and resorts in Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean.

Earlier this year, Minor Hotels entered a memorandum of understanding with Soma Bay Hotel Company SAE to develop a new luxury resort under the Anantara brand in Egypt.
