Singaporean real estate and lodging company The Ascott Limited (Ascott) has signed the Citadines Udupi serviced residence in Karnataka, India, reported The Economic Times.

The new 104-key property represents Ascott's fourth location in Karnataka.

Ascott country general manager Hoshang Garivala stated: “India is a priority market for Ascott’s growth in Asia, and Karnataka remains one of our strongest regions.

“With its blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and rising industrial ecosystem, Udupi presents a unique opportunity.

“Citadines Udupi reflects our commitment to bringing world-class hospitality experiences to India’s emerging destinations, while strengthening our presence in the southern market.”

Udupi is known for its Blue Flag-certified beach and industrial base, including the Suzlon Hi-Tech SEZ and Padubidri Industrial Park.

The town is close to New Mangalore Port Trust, which further enhances its appeal as a centre for sustainable tourism and coastal development.

SKS Sunshine director Sudharman Shetty said: “Udupi is our home, and this collaboration allows us to combine our hospitality legacy with Ascott’s global expertise. Together, we aim to make Citadines Udupi a preferred choice for travellers seeking the warmth of coastal Karnataka along with modern comforts.”

Ascot’s portfolio in Bengaluru features Oakwood Whitefield Bengaluru, as well as upcoming projects in Bengaluru's Electronic City.

In addition, the brand has properties at different stages of operation and development across other major Indian metropolitan areas, including Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and Goa.

The inclusion of Citadines Udupi will strengthen Ascott’s focus on coastal and industrial growth corridors in India.
