Hospitality company Ecko Hotels and Resorts is continuing to expand its network and strengthen its position with the launch of new properties across India.
The company, which started operations in April 2025 with establishments in Rishikesh, Tapovan, and Haridwar, has since added over 1,000 rooms.
New hotels have been opened in several Indian cities, including Amritsar, Badrinath, Dehradun, Puri, Goa, Lansdowne, Pandukeshwar and Udaipur.
With these additions, Ecko now operates 12 hotels across India.
Ecko aims to provide upscale stays combining modern amenities with authentic local experiences.
The hotel chain targets areas known for their spiritual significance. It also serves the needs of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE), wedding events and vacationers.
The expansion is a part of the company’s vision to meet evolving guest demands.
Last week, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council of India resolved to cut the tax rates on hotel rooms that are priced at Rs7,500 ($85.2) or less per day.
According to recommendations made by the 56th GST Council, these rooms will now attract a GST of 5% without the benefit of input tax credit (ITC), a reduction from the previous rate of 12% which included ITC.
According to Hotelier India, Ecko Hotels & Resorts founder and CEO Perkin Rocha was quoted as saying: “This expansion represents a significant milestone for Ecko Hotels & Resorts as we broaden our footprint in destinations that resonate with spiritual seekers, leisure travellers and cultural explorers.
“We are not just improving our inventory with Pandukeshwar, Badrinath, Amritsar, Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Puri, Goa, Alibaug, Lansdowne and Udaipur but also establishing avenues for some great stay experiences and lasting values in the world of Indian hospitality, all proudly within such a short span of time.”
