Hyatt Hotels has launched its first Hyatt Place hotel brand in South Korea with the opening of a new property in Busan’s business and transportation hub Yeonsan.

The new property is now the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Busan, joining Park Hyatt Busan, and expands Hyatt’s presence to six properties across the country.

Located adjacent to Yeonsan Station and served by multiple bus routes, Hyatt Place Busan Yeonsan offers direct access to major locations such as Busan City Hall, Centum City, and Seomyeon. Its position places it within the reach of various business districts as well as commercial centres.

The surrounding neighbourhood features local restaurants, cultural facilities and urban amenities.

The hotel features 160 rooms with each room equipped with a workstation, smart television and high-speed internet connection to accommodate both business tasks and leisure use. Seating areas are included in every guestroom.

The Placery restaurant operates throughout the day at the property. Its menu incorporates Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese and Western dishes.

Hyatt Place Busan Yeonsan worked with South Korean design firm RMSJ to implement architectural features and interiors inspired by concepts referencing Busan’s urban landscape.

Public areas such as the lobby present a blend of modern Korean design principles with structured lines and selected materials reflecting the city environment.

Hyatt Place Busan Yeonsan general manager Richard Kim said: “We are excited to introduce the Hyatt Place brand to the incredible city of Busan, as it celebrates a milestone of over three million visitors.

“Blending rich culture, stunning coastal scenery and dynamic business opportunities, Busan is a wonderful destination. Our dedicated team is proud to offer a hotel experience that is welcoming, seamless and convenient. We hope that guests will choose to return every time they are in Busan.”

The latest launch responds to growing demand for accommodation from both international tourists and event delegates visiting the port city.

Recently, Park Hyatt Tokyo reopened after completing a major renovation, the first extensive update in its nearly 30-year history.
