Hospitality group Hilton has entered a franchise agreement with Key International to launch a new DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Madrid, Spain.
Slated for a late 2026 opening, the new hotel will be developed in the city's Salamanca neighbourhood.
The hotel will be managed by the multi-brand hotel management company Panoram Hotel Management.
Key international co-president Diego Ardid said: “We are excited to bring this stylish, contemporary DoubleTree by Hilton hotel to the north of the Salamanca neighbourhood, with great transport links to the city centre and the airport – making it an attractive option for both business and leisure travellers.
“Our continued collaboration with Hilton reflects our shared commitment to developing exceptional hotels that deliver world-class service and amenities for guests.”
The upcoming DoubleTree by Hilton Madrid Principe de Vergara will offer 155 guest rooms, including a variety of room types and suites.
Designed to cater to both business and leisure travellers, the hotel will feature a bar, restaurant, fitness centre, and 14 meeting rooms.
Situated in an area known for its upscale residences, dining, and luxury shopping, the new hotel will provide guests with easy access to some of Madrid's landmarks.
Hilton Spain and Portugal development managing director Carlos Miró said: “Spain continues to be a key market for Hilton and we are thrilled to expand our footprint further in the capital with the signing of DoubleTree by Hilton Madrid Principe de Vergara.
“With a prime location in the Salamanca neighbourhood, this new hotel will be an exciting addition to Hilton’s growing Spain portfolio, which has more than doubled in the last five years. Momentum also continues to grow for our full-service DoubleTree by Hilton brand in Europe, which now has almost 180 trading and pipeline properties across the continent.”
Operating for more than five decades, the DoubleTree by Hilton brand has over 700 hotels and more than 158,000 rooms in 60 countries.
In Spain, Hilton's portfolio includes 44 operational hotels and another ten in development. The Madrid region currently hosts eight Hilton hotels, with two more in the pipeline.
The new property will join the existing DoubleTree by Hilton Madrid Prado, marking the brand's second establishment in the city.
Earlier this year, Hilton's LXR Hotels & Resorts brand made its French market debut with the opening of the Sax Paris hotel.
