IHCL reports continued growth in Q1 of FY2023-24

The company unveiled five new hotels across various regions in the country in Q1.

Indian hospitality company Indian Hotels Limited (IHCL) has reported continued growth in the first quarter (Q1) of the fiscal year (FY) 2023-24.

During the quarter ending on 30 June 2023, the IHCL expanded its portfolio by entering agreements for 11 hotels and opened five new hotels across various regions in the country.

The existing portfolio of the company comprises 270 hotels and intends to raise this figure to over 325 hotels by 2025.

In 2023-24, IHCL anticipates entering various regions namely, Gangtok in Sikkim state of India, Jaisalmer in Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang.

The current portfolio is spread over various Indian cities such as Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, National Capital Region, Ranthambore, Tirupati and Srinagar among others.

Under the Taj brand, IHCL has 82 hotels that are currently operational, while Vivanta, SeleQtions and Ginger brands have 28, 22 and 59 hotels, respectively.

Across the globe, 79 hotels are presently under development on four continents.

IHCL real estate and development executive vice-president Suma Venkatesh said: “Taj, rated as India’s Strongest Brand 2023 by Brand Finance, further strengthened its presence with a 400-room hotel in Delhi and a 120-room hotel in Kochi and entered new markets like Raichak in West Bengal and Dhaka in Bangladesh.

“Leading in the leisure segment, IHCL signed a SeleQtions in Kumbhalgarh and Naukuchiatal. Vivanta and Ginger, having added new locations to their network are growing at a healthy pace.”

In June this year, the company unveiled a property under the Vivanta brand in Jammu.
