Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed a Gateway Hotel and Convention Centre in Kanamangala, Devanahalli, near Bengaluru Airport in Karnataka.

The project will be a greenfield development, adding to the company’s presence in Bengaluru, where it will have 20 hotels, including 11 currently under development.

The planned property will have 300 rooms and include an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a speciality restaurant and a lounge. It will also include a gym and a swimming pool.

The convention centre will feature banquet spaces and meeting rooms for conferences and social events. The largest banquet hall will measure more than 16,000ft².

The hotel will be located in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, which has economic activity across IT, biotechnology, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

IHCL Real Estate & Development executive vice president Suma Venkatesh said: “With the rapid expansion around the airport, North Bengaluru has emerged as a significant growth corridor, and this signing aligns with our strategy to build scale in the micro‑market addressing the rising demand from corporate and MICE segments. We are delighted to partner with Hombale Group for this project.”

The project involves Hombale Group, which operates in construction and filmmaking.

The group said it has completed more than 10 million ft² of construction for state and central government projects.

Hombale Group Shailaja Vijay Kiragandur said: “We are happy to partner with IHCL to bring the Gateway brand to North Bengaluru, aligning with the region’s growth trajectory.”

Hombale Films, started by Vijay Kiragandur in 2014, operates as a film production house in South India.

Last month, IHCL opened the 135-room Vivanta Vrindavan, the brand’s first hotel in the city. Located in central Vrindavan, the property is close to several temples and religious sites.

The hotel includes dining venues, a spa, a fitness centre and an open-to-sky infinity pool.
