IHG Hotels & Resorts has hit a new milestone by reaching one million open rooms worldwide, driven by its global strategy and an increasing travel industry.

In the last ten years, the company has doubled its brand portfolio to 20 and established a presence in more than 100 countries.

IHG's growth continues with a record number of room launches in the first half of 2025.

The company has marked several achievements, encompassing the opening of its 4,000th hotel in the US, its 800th in Greater China, where the company has completed 50 years of operations.

It also has a record number of property signings and openings in the Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Australasia (EMEAA) region, as well as disclosed the opening of its 50th property in Japan.

With more than 2,200 hotels in its development pipeline, IHG is set for further expansion worldwide.

The recent openings showcase IHG's diverse brand offerings. Among them are new properties in Todos Santos, Mexico; Kyoto, Japan; St Julian’s, Malta; and Hainan, China.
