Leonardo Hotels Central Europe has purchased the former Hilton Evian-les-Bains hotel, which is located on the shores of Lake Geneva in France.

Initially trading as Hotel Evian-les-Bains by Leonardo Hotels, the property will remain open to guests while it undergoes an extensive renovation programme.

The hotel has 170 rooms and suites, many with views over Lake Geneva or towards the Alps mountain range.

It includes a restaurant with a lakeside terrace, a bar, and a heated outdoor pool. The property also includes a gym, and a health and beauty spa area.

The property also has conference rooms and an executive lounge aimed at corporate and business guests.

Once the refurbishment is completed, the hotel is to be integrated into the group’s lifestyle portfolio as NYX Hotel Evian-les-Bains by Leonardo Hotels.

Leonardo Hotels Central Europe managing director Yoram Biton said: “The acquisition of the hotel in Evian-les-Bains represents a robust continuation of our growth strategy in France.

“This destination combines international appeal with year-round demand in both the leisure and business sectors and is a perfect fit for our European expansion strategy.

“We look forward to further and targeted development of the property via our NYX Hotels lifestyle brand and to offering guests a unique hotel experience in one of France’s most attractive regions.”

In June, Leonardo Hotels Central Europe opened its first smart property near Vienna Airport, Austria. The 510-room Leonardo Smart Vienna Airport building is said to be the largest hotel in the world built entirely from wood.
