Marriott Vacation Clubs is expanding its operations in the Asia Pacific with new developments in Thailand, Bali, Indonesia; and Shanghai, China.

The developments include a new resort in Khao Lak, Thailand, the expansion of Marriott’s Bali Nusa Dua Terrace and a marketing call centre in Shanghai.

Marriott Vacations Worldwide president and CEO John Geller said: “Our continued investment in Asia Pacific, including the opening of new resorts and the expansion of our call centre operations, reflects our long-term commitment to the region.”

Situated within the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa, the Marriott Vacation Club, Khao Lak Beach Resort features 52 family suites that have been converted into two-bedroom vacation ownership apartments.

These accommodations blend Southern Thai-inspired architecture with traditional furnishings, offering space for up to five guests.

Guests at the resort will have access to various amenities such as Southeast Asia's largest lagoon swimming pool, a kids' pool and 11 dining options.

Additional amenities such as pickleball and basketball courts are anticipated to be available by the end of 2026.

Sustainability initiatives at the resort include eliminating the use of plastics, using reusable glass water bottles and bamboo key cards.

Marriott Vacations Worldwide Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East senior vice-president and managing director Lee Dowling said: “Thailand is experiencing a major tourism resurgence, driven by forward-thinking government initiatives such as visa-free entry, increased flight access, a national campaign promoting travel, and renewed global interest sparked by recent film productions taking place here.

“The debut of Marriott Vacation Club, Khao Lak Beach Resort marks a timely and strategic expansion for The Marriott Vacation Clubs, as we continue to meet growing demand from our owners, members and guests for enriching vacation experiences in the Asia Pacific.”
