Marriott Bonvoy brand W Hotels has opened its first property in Saudi Arabia at Riyadh's King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD).

The W Riyadh – KAFD hotel is designed by LW Design. It offers 210 guest rooms, including 17 suites, two penthouse suites and the W Penthouse.

The penthouse suites feature larger layouts and floor‑to‑ceiling windows with views over downtown Riyadh.

The 390m² W Penthouse includes two bedrooms, separate living and dining spaces, a kitchenette, an office, and a gym area with steam and sauna facilities.

Dining options at the hotel include an open kitchen restaurant, a coffeehouse and an outdoor area with private cabanas and poolside seating.

Later this year, Sahari – named after the Arabic word for staying up late – is expected to open as an outdoor lounge designed for performances and social occasions.

Well-being facilities at W Riyadh – KAFD include a dedicated spa and fitness amenities. The hotel also has 15 flexible meeting rooms and a ballroom.

Marriott International Europe, the Middle East, and Africa luxury brands vice-president Helen Leighton said: “The opening of W Riyadh – KAFD is a significant moment for the brand as it enters Saudi Arabia and reinforces our commitment to redefining luxury lifestyle hospitality across the Middle East.

“W Hotels has always been rooted in creativity and culture, and W Riyadh – KAFD is an expression of the brand's design ethos, anticipatory service evolution, and immersive programming.”

Earlier this year, W Hotels expanded its Italian portfolio with the opening of W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu.
