Meliá Hotels International has announced the signing of Hotel Corte Rosada, Affiliated by Meliá, in Alghero, Sardinia, expanding its Mediterranean portfolio.

Scheduled to open in mid-2025, the four-star beachfront retreat is 15 minutes away from the Alghero – Riviera del Corallo Airport.

This strategic move is part of the company's plan to enhance its leisure offerings in “unique” locations and grow its Italian presence to 15 properties by 2027.

Located within the protected Porto Conte Regional Natural Park, Hotel Corte Rosada will offer direct access to the beach and is surrounded by natural landscapes suitable for outdoor activities.

The property will feature 152 rooms, a wellness centre, and multiple dining venues, including a restaurant, bar, and breakfast area, while its location offers guests the opportunity to explore nature reserves, vineyards, and diving sites.

A city with Catalan roots, Alghero features a historic centre, ancient fortifications, and is close to attractions such as Capo Caccia, Neptune's Grotto, Punta Giglio, and Monte Doglia.

The opening of Hotel Corte Rosada will mark the second Meliá property on the island, following Bellevue Sardinia, Affiliated by Meliá, which opened last year. It will become the 15th hotel in the company's Italian portfolio.

Additionally, Meliá plans to introduce new hotels in Venice and Milan later in 2025.

Meliá Hotels International president and CEO Gabriel Escarrer said: “Italy is a priority market for Meliá, not only for its tourism potential but also because it so closely aligns with our values—Mediterranean hospitality, lifestyle, and service excellence.”

“We are proud to continue expanding in such a meaningful destination, and to do so with hotels that respect and enhance the natural and cultural beauty of their surroundings - such as this exciting new project in Alghero. With this new addition, Meliá Hotels International further consolidates its leadership in the leisure segment and strengthens its strategic expansion across the Mediterranean."

Last month, Meliá Hotels International revealed plans to introduce its all-inclusive luxury brand, Paradisus by Meliá, in Bali. The development will mark its entry into the Southeast Asian region.
