Meliá Hotels International has unveiled plans to deepen its presence in Vietnam with the first Meliá Collection-branded property in the country.

The new property, Ocaria Retreat Mui Ne, Member of Melia Collection, is scheduled to open in 2029.

It will feature 187 accommodations, including 156 guest rooms and 31 villas.

Guest facilities will include multiple dining options, a spa, gym, meeting spaces, a kids club and an outdoor swimming pool.

The property is being developed in Mui Ne, along one of its “most privileged beachfronts”. The site is around three hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City via the Long Thanh–Dau Giay–Phan Thiet Expressway.

Connectivity to the area is also expected to improve with the upcoming Phan Thiet airport.

Ocaria Retreat Mui Ne is owned by Nam Chau Tourism JSC, marking the start of a new partnership for Meliá in Vietnam.

In a statement, the hotel chain said: “The Meliá Collection brings to Vietnam a portfolio defined by character, heritage and individuality.

Meliá currently has 22 hotels in operation across Vietnam and six more projects under development, with the country described as one of its “most powerful footholds” in the Asia Pacific.

In March, Meliá opened Hotel President Budapest, marking the company’s entry into Hungary.

The 152-room property is located near the Danube, the Parliament and St Stephen’s Basilica.
