Boutique hotel POSH on Kirkwood is enhancing in-room guest experiences by partnering with Sonifi, a provider of hospitality technology solutions.
A recent addition to downtown Bloomington, Indiana, the hotel now offers Sonifi's interactive features and entertainment options on Samsung smart hospitality TV installed in the property’s 45 suites.
The initiative allows guests to access live TV programming through DIRECTV, on-demand movies, wellness content, and secure streaming from more than 5,000 mobile applications.
The streaming capability is enabled by Sonifi’s patented STAYCAST system. POSH on Kirkwood is said to be among the first in the US to use STAYCAST’s latest version.
This technology incorporates Google Cast software directly into Samsung HBU800N and HGU7010F TV models, eliminating the need for additional in-room equipment while allowing content casting from both Android and iOS devices, said Sonifi.
Guests can access information about hotel amenities using the custom Sonifi interactive platform. Details include the on-site cocktail bar in the former bank vault, several outdoor terraces, a sauna room, complimentary bicycles, and the property’s bagel shop.
The system also provides personalised guest messages and on-screen QR codes that link to booking options for hotel services.
POSH on Kirkwood general manager Matt Swisher said: “Our suites are designed to be a sanctuary of comfort, style and calm. Making sure our guests have all the in-room amenities they want most, including their favourite entertainment, is part of that.”
The property operates from a repurposed downtown bank building tailored for visitors to Bloomington and travellers attending events at Indiana University.
The hotel’s management expects these technology upgrades to improve guest convenience and streamline operations by minimising hardware maintenance within rooms.
