Sutton Hotel Collection has confirmed a £9.5m ($12.8m) refurbishment for Castle Hotel Windsor in London, UK.

Work will include a redesign of the ground floor, the establishment of a new British brasserie, and a complete refurbishment of all guest rooms. The revamp is to begin in November and is anticipated to conclude by late 2026.

The hotel will also focus on enhancing staff training to improve service quality for visitors.

This initiative follows a £13m renovation of the Francis Hotel in Bath, another property in the Sutton Hotel Collection, which added a thermal spa featuring three treatment rooms.

Established in 2022, the Sutton Hotel Collection encompasses The Castle Hotel Windsor, The Francis Hotel Bath, and The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences in London. The group divested The Queen’s Hotel in Cheltenham to KE Hotels earlier this year.

Sutton Hotel Collection cluster general manager Shaun Bowles said: “This £9.5m transformation is more than just a renovation - we will be fully repositioning the Castle Hotel within the Windsor market and investing heavily in our brand, our people and our guest journey.

“We’ll be empowering the team to be imaginative and curate personalised experiences for the guest. We will also be focusing on delivering a first-class British restaurant and elevating our afternoon tea to appeal to the 12 million tourists that visit Windsor every year.”
