Mexico-based Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal has concluded the final stage of its multi-year property renovation, resulting in upgraded guest accommodations and public areas across the hotel.

The project included a redesign of all 112 rooms, suites, villas, and casitas, introducing new in-room bars and custom metallic sea turtle installations by Preciado Iluminacion.

Paul Duesing led the design team, with contributions from craftsmen based in Oaxaca, Baja California Sur, and Jalisco.

The hotel’s public spaces also underwent changes, notably at the Beach Club Restaurant, adult pool, and salon within the Waldorf Astoria Spa.

The spa now offers a refreshed salon and treatments inspired by traditional Mexican rituals and lunar phases.

Food and beverage options received several updates.

Mar y Leña opened as a new oceanfront restaurant at the Beach Club Palapa, serving a Baja-style menu. The resort expanded its wine label to include two new exclusive Champagnes: Blanc de Blancs and Rosé.

A Sunday Brunch was introduced at the Beach Club Palapa with live DJs and a range of food stations.

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal general manager Juan Gonzalez said: “The completion of Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal’s highly-anticipated renovation marks a significant milestone for the resort, which aims to continue on its storied legacy while deeply integrating the vibrant heritage of Mexican culture.

“The resort has created a legacy that is both authentic and modern, solidifying the property’s position as the premier destination in Los Cabos for both new guests and ones who continue to return to Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal time and time again.”

The property continues its Festival of Flavors event series into 2026.

The first event took place last month in partnership with Chef Iñaki Aldrey Teruel of Barcelona’s Atempo Restaurant.

Another session is scheduled from 30 April to 2 May with Chef Sheyla Alvarado of Lunario in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico.

In January, Hilton and New York real estate developer Extell confirmed plans to open Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley Resort and Residences in 2028.
