Hospitality group Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has introduced its Baymont brand to the Asia-Pacific region with the opening of a new property in Yunnan, China.

Situated in Kunming’s central business district, the hotel represents Baymont’s first property outside the Americas and forms part of Wyndham’s ongoing expansion in the midscale hospitality sector in the Asia-Pacific.

The hotel offers 92 guest rooms outfitted with standard amenities such as TVs, minibars, workspaces, on-site parking, and a fitness centre.  

Business travellers and event organisers can also access to meeting spaces covering 300m² over two venues, with capacity for up to 180 people at conferences or 150 for banquets.

According to the company, the property is positioned near major commercial, cultural, and leisure sites, including Yunnan Wildlife Park and Cuihu Park.

The launch of Baymont Kunming Wuhua follows Wyndham’s plan to strengthen its presence in China and demonstrates the company’s view of growing travel demand in the market.

Baymont by Wyndham operates more than 550 hotels throughout North America, providing uniform accommodation options designed to be affordable for travellers.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts manages around 8,300 properties in nearly 100 countries across six continents.

The company’s portfolio includes over 855,000 rooms, primarily serving travellers in the economy and midscale lodging sectors.

Wyndham recently entered an agreement with Trinidad Hospitality and J City Group to operate the Wyndham Garden Kuantan, J-City hotel in Malaysia.
