Three major hotel projects are being planned by some of the world’s biggest hotel groups for the Ukraine to meet growing demand in the market.

A report on Ukrainian website KYIV Post says the Intercontinental Hotels Group from the US, Belgium’s Rezidor Hotel Group and France’s Accor have already launched nine projects in the nation, which is also getting ready to host the Euro 2012 football championship.

The website says three hotels have been earmarked for the end of 2009.

Accor will enter the market with its five-star Soffitel brand and three-star Ibis hotels, while Rezidor, which already has one hotel in the country, plans to open 11 Radisson hotels and 16 Park Inn hotels.

Intercontinental Hotels has two projects earmarked for Kyiv – a Holiday Inn and a five-star InterContinental, with the Holiday Inn being planned for the end of next year.
