Driftwood Hospitality Management is deploying Flywire’s hospitality solutions across its nearly 90 hotel properties in the US, aiming to streamline guest transactions and modernise payment processes.

The deployment expands Flywire’s partnership with the hotel management company, which oversees more than 15,000 rooms and works with both major chains such as Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG, as well as independent boutique hotels.

Driftwood US properties currently use Flywire’s solutions to power digital payments, electronic signatures, and authorisations.

Implementing these solutions allows the hotel company to replace legacy manual processes, reducing the need for paper-based contracts and sensitive payment information being sent by email.

Properties are now equipped to process various payment types, including automated clearing house (ACH) payments, which Driftwood expects will cut costs compared to credit card processing and overall transaction risks.

With Flywire’s technology, hotels can request payment and digital signatures simultaneously, adopt a more secure approach to card processing, and take advantage of online portals with fraud prevention and automated reminders.

Driftwood reported a reduction in payment processing costs by around 30% at ten of its properties in five months.

The adoption of ACH and electronic authorisation workflows contributed to these cost savings, impacting millions in total payment volume.

Driftwood commercial strategy senior vice-president Carol Davies said: “Flywire’s comprehensive travel and hospitality solutions have really up-levelled our operations.

“They’ve helped us significantly reduce turnaround time for both payments and contract signatures while simultaneously lowering the burden of reconciliation and manual data entry.”

Flywire travel senior vice-president and general manager Colin Smyth said: “The demands of the hospitality industry are constantly evolving, requiring sophisticated solutions that go beyond basic payment processing to truly embed within and optimise a hotel’s operational workflow.

“Our hospitality solutions are designed specifically to meet these needs, offering a unified, secure platform for contracts, authorisations, and payments.”
