Luxury hospitality group Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to open a hotel in Sevilla, Spain, as part of a joint project with Spanish real estate investment firm Blasson.

The new Four Seasons Hotel Sevilla is slated for the Arenal Quarter’s Plaza Nueva, a central location known for its proximity to several of the city’s prominent cultural sites.

The hotel will occupy a mid-20th-century building, which will be fully refurbished before it opens.

Once completed, the property will feature around 55 guest rooms spread over five storeys, including accommodation options ranging from 40m² to 117m² and a Presidential Suite.

The building’s redevelopment will be led by Madrid studio Lamela, with interiors by designer Belén Domecq.

Plans outline three food and beverage outlets, including a street-level restaurant with direct access to Plaza Nueva, a rooftop restaurant and bar offering city views, and a ground-floor lounge.

Other guest amenities will include a fitness centre, spa, and a rooftop swimming pool overlooking Sevilla’s skyline.

Blasson founding partner Enrique Benjumea said: “Our investment in Sevilla reflects our confidence in its continued growth as a leading destination for luxury tourism, and we are so pleased and grateful to embark on this project with the support of the municipality.”

Four Seasons currently operates properties in Madrid and Mallorca. The company’s entry into Sevilla comes as the city attracts close to five million visitors a year and benefits from strong transport links, including high-speed rail and an expanding airport network.

Four Seasons president and CEO Alejandro Reynal said: “Sevilla is a city defined by its culture, history, and beauty, and it is a privilege to introduce Four Seasons to this remarkable destination as we continue to build our unique portfolio of luxury experiences globally.

“As our presence in Spain grows, Four Seasons’ partnership with Blasson establishes a thoughtfully restored luxury offering that reflects the spirit of Sevilla while delivering the elevated service and genuine care that our guests know and trust.”

Last month, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi in Japan reopened after an extensive refurbishment of its interiors and guest services.
