The property draws inspiration from costumbrismo, an artistic tradition depicting local customs, characters, and daily life. The name of the hotel is also based on a Spanish traditional celebration called verbena.
Madrid-born designer Lorenzo Castillo designed the interiors. Many rooms overlook Calle de Preciados while Preciados Rooms include terraces with views across Madrid’s rooftops and towards the Royal Palace.
Hilton Continental Europe senior vice-president David Kelly said: “Madrid is a special destination for Hilton, and in recent years, we’ve broadened our presence in the city with distinctive brands and properties designed to meet different traveller needs.
“Casa Verbena Madrid builds on that story as the European debut of Outset Collection by Hilton. Full of character and with a strong sense of place, the hotel reflects the creativity and energy of Madrid.”
The hotel participates in Hilton Honors, Hilton’s guest loyalty programme. Members can book through Hilton’s direct channels, earn and redeem points, and access applicable member benefits.
The opening comes one month after Hilton signed a franchise agreement with Arte Hoteles to open the property.
Arte Hoteles managing director Álvaro Mazaheri said: “Casa Verbena Madrid offers a fresh perspective on the capital, whether guests are discovering it for the first time or returning to experience it differently.
“From a breakfast inspired by local favourites to recommendations we would share with friends, we want each stay to reveal more of the Madrid that lies beyond its best-known sights.”
Earlier this month, Hilton introduced its luxury LXR brand in India with the opening of The Den Bengaluru, LXR Hotels & Resorts, in Karnataka.
