
Australia travel & tourism industry registered a 17.3% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 8.36% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.9% share in June 2021, recording decrease of 0.66% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.62% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia travel & tourism industry in June 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 58.33% in June 2021, a 122.73% growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15.48% share, decline of 18.75% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 9.52%, registering a flat growth from May 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.33%, up 75% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in Australia IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 75.86% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia travel & tourism industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
Tabcorp Holdings posted 21 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 61.54% over the previous month, followed by Qantas Airways with 14 jobs and an 180% growth. Virgin Australia Holdings with 6 IT jobs and TripAdvisor with 5 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Flight Centre Travel Group recorded a flat growth with 5 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.81%, up by 24% from May 2021. Entry Level positions with a 19.05% share, a growth of 300% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 7.14% share, flat growth over May 2021.
